I always used to think how people make such lovely gift tags at home. Of course, I set out initially to find ideas and how-to tutorials for making gift tags. The search began from finding printables, but I ended up finding lovely ideas for crafting DIY gift tags for different holidays and festivals. That’s when I thought of writing a post to help moms with the research that I just did. I stumbled across some 100s of tags, but here’s a roundup of lovely handmade gift tag ideas which left a lasting impression on me. I’ve bookmarked these for myself and now it’s your turn.
Just to let you know, here’s what I found. Wearing a creative hat is all it needs to come up with unique handmade tags for Christmas, Easter, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day gifts. I’ll share some ideas that I generally adopt below, but this post is there to have all my favorite tags at one place.
How to Make Tags from Printables?
Just think of the occasion/festival and remember what comes first to your mind. Search for a printable of that symbol. Say,for example, search as ‘Santa Hat Printables for Tags’ or say just type a generic term like ‘Teacher Appreciation Gift Tags’ and Google to find cute gift tag printables to create your customized version.
You can print the tags on normal paper, cut them out and decorate them to finally paste on the tag card and use with a hole. But I would rather suggest to print them on a label paper or sticker. You can use the card stick, tie it with a ribbon by punching a small hole and create lovely homemade gift tags from printables. Remember, most printables look just ok in B/W prints, but with colors, they look superb!
